Christian Bale Joins The Fighter?

According to Mark Wahlberg, Christian Bale is (or was) set to take over Brad Pitt’s role as Dickie Eklund in The Fighter. Pitt left the project for unspecified reasons in late 2008. Darren Aronofsky is reportedly still attached the project, however there have been conflicting reports since the news broke last year.

Wahlberg mentioned Bale during an episode of “Playing Lessons with the Pros,” which aired this week on The Golf Channel. The original date of the taping is unknown, which means the news could be quite old. It’s interesting nonetheless.
